THE ISABEL BAKER FOUNDATION

The Isabel Baker Foundation is named after our brave little hero, Isabel Baker, whose extraordinary strength motivated us to embark upon a journey where we could help the other little heroes who are battling their own fights against childhood cancer.

Supporting Families Through Childhood Cancer

Since 2015, The Isabel Baker Foundation has supported more than 1,200 families across the UK through the unimaginable journey of childhood cancer. We are here to ease practical, emotional, and financial burdens so families can focus on what truly matters.

From supermarket vouchers to help keep food on the table, to bespoke dry suits that allow children with central lines to safely enjoy baths and water play, to restorative stays at ‘Isabel’s Retreat’, our mission is to bring relief, dignity, and moments of joy during the toughest times.

More Than Support — Hope, Connection & Care

Childhood cancer affects the whole family. Alongside financial support, complementary therapies, and memory-making breaks, we are currently developing a trauma-informed mental health initiative to provide dedicated emotional support for parents and siblings navigating grief, trauma, anxiety, and uncertainty.

Because no family should be left to face this alone.

We’re Here for You

Whether you are looking for support or would like to help us continue this vital work, you are in the right place. Your kindness helps us provide hope, relief, and precious moments of normality and connection.

Together, we can make a difference.

Have you joined the 'Holding Space'?

Coffee and Croissants

The 'Holding Space' is a private Facebook community for parents and carers of children with cancer, created to offer connection, understanding, and support during one of the most challenging experiences a family can face. It is a safe and compassionate space where members can share openly, listen without judgement, and feel supported by others who truly understand the realities of life alongside childhood cancer.

The group exists to hold space for honest conversation, whether that’s about fear, exhaustion, hope, practical challenges, or the emotional weight that often goes unseen. Members are welcome to engage in whatever way feels right for them, whether actively participating or simply reading and knowing they are not alone.

Alongside the online community, we also offer monthly in-person coffee mornings in Poole, Dorset. These informal gatherings provide an opportunity to connect face-to-face in a calm, supportive environment.

From 2026, the initiative will expand to include a wider range of wellbeing-focused events. These will be thoughtfully introduced to support emotional and mental wellbeing.

.

Holding Space exists to remind parents and carers that they do not have to carry everything alone, there is room to be heard, supported, and held, exactly as they are.
